Michael C. Jelski, 45, of Valparaiso, Indiana. Passed away on May 15, 2025. He lived a life of strength and resilience, fighting tirelessly for his loved ones, especially for his daughter Gemma. Now, with God’s gentle hand, he has found his final rest. Survived by his daughter Gemma Jelski. Parents Janet Jelski- Schreiber (Ken) and MikeT. Jelski (Nina) and his brother Tom (Rhonda) Jelski, Uncles Danny Pecenica, George Pecenica, Nick (Kelley) Pecenica, Ron (Martha) Jelski, Aunts Helen (Wolfi) Hofmann, Louise Volpi, Diana Durbin and mother of Gemma. His extended family Elizabeth, Chris and Tara. Cousins Nicholas, Joshua, Nathan, Laura, Karen, Brian, Julie and Joey, and Cynthia. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Jovanka Pecenica and Adam and Florence Jelski. Uncles Kenny, Adam, and Chris, and Cousin George Volpi. Michael’s furry friends Pierre, Max, and Harry. Michael attended Lake Central and Highland High School followed by Indiana University and UNLV. He then attended Atlantic Theatre Company in New York and Second City in Chicago. He wrote several screenplays. Michael was in the Army National Guard from September 2001 – September 2006. He was stationed in Henderson, Nevada.He played tennis, football, track, cross country and basketball in school.. He ran in three marathons. He was a die hard Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He absolutely loved his time with Gemma especially being a stay-at-home Dad before she started school. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them. Services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church Schererville, (905 E Joliet Street, Schererville Indiana). Visitation is from 9-10 am with Funeral Services to begin at 10 am.He will be buried at Calumet Park Cemetery, 2305 W 73rd Ave, Merrillvile Indiana. Memory Eternal
