Susan Jo Belicek (DeCamp) known affectionately as Sue, passed away on July 28,2024, at the age of 69, in Schererville, Indiana. Born August 2, 1954, in Hammond, Indiana, she grew up to be a dedicated and compassionate individual, cherished by all who knew her.
She graduated from TF North High school in 1972 and went on to have a fulfilling career with Technical Weighing Services in Griffith, where she worked for 26 years. Her work ethic and dedication to her role were evident to her colleagues and clients alike.
A woman of deep faith, Sue was an active member of Living Stones Church in Crown Point, Indiana. Her commitment to her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing strength and comfort through all her days. She absolutely loved her Bible study group.
Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She is survived by her husband, Nelson; her children, John (Julie), Matthew (Christina), Rebecca; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Isabella, Ivy, and Jaxson; her sister Karen Reato at Beecher, Illinois, and her brother Bob (Trina) DeCamp of new Lenox IL; her daughter-in-law, Dawn. She was preceded in death by her son Bryan Belicek, her parents Robert and Arliss (Stevenson)DeCamp, brother-in-law Art/Ray Reato.
Family was the center of her world, and she was a beacon in love and kindness to each family member in their own special way. Her hobbies included crafting, reading, and tending to her plants, which were activities that brought great joy and peace in her life. What brought her most joy of all were her loving grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her boundless love she had for her family, friends, and strangers who had the honor to meet her. Sue’s legacy of love, faith, and resilience will live on through her family into all who were blessed to know her. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit will continue to inspire those she has left behind.
Friends are invited to visit with Sue’s family on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Funeral Service Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. At rest, Chapel Lawn Cemetery Schererville.
