Rada Nivens (Trbovic) age 63 of Chicago, Illinois passed away peacefully Monday March 25, 2024 after a brief illness. Rada was born May 18, 1960 in East Chicago, Indiana. Rada is survived by her loving husband Michael Nivens and sister Helen Trbovic. Rada was preceded in death by her parents Bozo and Milica(Mika) Trbovic and brother Lazo Trbovic.
Rada graduated from East Chicago Washington and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fashion Merchandising from Purdue University. After graduating from college Rada moved to Chicago where she eventually started her own apparel merchandising business where she worked tirelessly until her illness took hold.
Rada loved living in the city but had a greater love of being near water and enjoying serene country living. Her and Michael were able to enjoy the best of both worlds with their “dual citizenship” in Chicago and their cottage in Michigan. Rada was overjoyed when Micheal surprised her with his announcement that he purchased a boat. They spent all of their free time on the water and were fortunate to forge wonderful new friendships with their fellow boaters.
Rada was blessed with an amazing personality. She lit up a room when she walked in and was always the life of the party. She possessed a beautiful disposition that was warm and welcoming. We will certainly miss our dear Rada and especially all of her “interesting” outfits, she was one of a kind. We take great comfort in knowing that she is at peace with Our Lord and Saviour, Vjecnaja Pamjat… Memory Eternal. Funeral Service will take place Thursday, March 28, 2024 directly at the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church Schererville at 10:00 A.M. Friends are invited to visit with Rada’s family on Thursday at Church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
