Peter Rada Colakovic, 42, of Munster, Indiana fell asleep in the Lord on February 27, 2023. Peter was born on June 8, 1980 to Rada and Nancy Colakovic in Clearwater, Florida.
Peter graduated from Munster High School in 1998. Post high school, he spent many years working in the hospitality industry, until finally being selected to study as an apprentice in Iron Workers Local #1, Chicago, IL. After completing his apprenticeship and becoming a journeyman, he worked for both Illinois Local #1 and Indiana Local #395.
Peter was a loving and devoted father to his daughter, Annah. They enjoyed going on vacations together to Minnesota and Florida, and they spent quality time together on the weekends doing things they both enjoyed. Peter was known for his outgoing personality, quick wit, and love for the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed spending time with family and extended family, either fishing, golfing, or hanging out at the campfire. He was always willing to offer a helping hand, especially when a friend was in need.
Peter is survived by his beautiful daughter, Annah. He is also survived by his loving parents, Rada and Nancy Colakovic, and four siblings, Nick (Anna) Colakovic, Maya Manser, Alex Colakovic, George (Ericka) Colakovic, and multiple nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and Kumovi. Peter was preceded in death by his grandparents, the V Rev Archpriest Bozidar and Protinica Zorka Dragicevich and Mitar and Bogdanka Colakovic, of blessed memory.
Arrangements having been made by Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home, services will be held on Friday, March 3, at St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of Merrillville, Indiana with V. Rev. Aleksandar Novakovic officiating (8700 W. Taft St, Merrillville, IN 46310). Visitation will begin at the church at 10:30 am and will be followed by the funeral service at 11:30 am after which time our Peter will be laid to rest at Memory Lane Memorial Park (6305 W Lincoln Hwy, Crown Point, Indiana 46307). A Dacha (funeral luncheon) will follow at St Elijah American Serbian Hall (at the same above address as the church).
