It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia “Patsy” Radu, who peacefully passed away on June 23rd, 2025 at the age of 81 in Crown Point, Indiana.
Born in Augusta, GA on October 17, 1943, Patsy was a twin to her sister Barbara; One of two cherished daughters of Oliver H Kuhlke and Mariam (Arndt) Kuhlke. A loving mother to her three children, Patsy was a pillar of strength and love for her family, always offering a listening ear, a warm embrace, and unwavering support.
Patsy’s impact went far beyond family life, however, cementing a lasting impact on the youth from her 32 years as an educator in the Crown Point Community School Corporation, 28 of which were spent shaping the minds of Eisenhower Elementary’s 4th grade class. Patsy will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and commitment to inspiring a love for learning in all those blessed by her presence. She found joy in reading, as well as devoting time to her family and friends for whom she cared deeply, always eager to assist others and ensure the well-being of her loved ones.
Patsy was predeceased by her husband, Richard Radu, her father, Oliver Kuhlke, her mother, Mariam (Arndt) Kuhlke, her step-mother, Friedl (Hanewald) Kuhlke, and her brother, Bill Kuhlke. She is survived by her children, Kimberly Radu, Alan Radu and Karen (Radu) Gambril, grandchildren Peyton Gambril and Dain Ellman, and her twin Barbara (Kuhlke) Murphy.
Friends are invited to visit with Patsy’s family from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday, June 26th at the Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home (7607 W. Lincoln Hwy. Crown Point, IN.) Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 27th at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home, followed by a graveside prayer service at Memory Lane Cemetery (6305 W Lincoln Hwy, Crown Point, IN.)
