Michael Balach, born Milos Balac, November 11, 1939 passed away February 19, 2025 after a long debilitating illness. Born in selo Peulje, Bosnia, Jugoslavia, Milos was the beloved son of †Djuro and †Mara. Milos is survived by cousins Vera (†Nikola) Premovic in Serbia, Nevenka (Mico) Sormaz in Canada, and many cousins in the United States: †Bogdan (Ljubica), Djuro (Ana), Milan (Smilja), Boro (Slavica), Nedeljko (Ljilja), Ilija (Carole), Svetko (Millie), Jovo (Nellie) also numerous nephews, nieces, kumovi. and dear friends. Milos immigrated to the United States in 1954 and joined his parents in East Chicago, Indiana. He graduated from Washington High School, and later attended Kansas State, where he majored in architecture. Milos was a long-standing member of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church.
Friends are invited to visit with Milos’s family on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in East Chicago (4021 Elm St., East Chicago, Indiana), from 11:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Funeral Service beginning at 11:30 A.M. Rev. Milorad Jancic and Rev. Ilija Balach officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.In lieu of flowers, donations to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church 4021 Elm St., East Chicago, IN 46312.
