Mary “Mara” Dobrijevich CROWN POINT, IN – Mary “Mara” Dobrijevich, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 26, 2017. She is survived by her loving sons: Petar Dobrijevich, Ilija (Mareen) Dobrijevich, Milojko (fiance Kathy) Dobrijevich; grandson, Ilija; brothers: Nick (Stephanie) Katich and Eli Katich; aunt, Joka (Uros) Nenadic; cousins: Peter, Marko, Bozica, Bosko, and Stanko Katich, Sylvia (Michael) Ivetich and Nick Nenadic and Danka Blesich; sister-in-law, Milica (Vule) Martinovich and family: Stevo Dobrijevich, Vlade Sormaz and Janet Katich and family; and numerous nieces and nephews Kumovi and dear friends. In 1967 Mary was joined in Holy Matrimony to her husband, Vojin. Preceded in death by her daughter, Dana; husband, Vojin; parents Bosko and Danka Katich; and siblings: Stanko and Stoja. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 29 at 10:00 AM Directly at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Schererville with Rev. Radovan Jakovljevic officiating. At rest, Calumet Park Cemetery Merrillville. Friends are invited to visit with Mary’s family on Thursday from 4:00-8:00PM at the LINCOLN RIDGE FUNERAL HOME 7607 W. Lincoln Hwy., Schererville (Rt. 30 East of Cline ave.) Pomen prayer service at 6:30 PM. Mary was a member of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Past President of the Circle of Serbian Sisters. She was extremely proud of her work with the “Mother’s Against Hunger” which helped distribute aid to needy children in the former Yugoslavia and also a member of the Serbian Chetnik Circle of Serbian Sisters. Mary worked for 34 years for the Lake County Clerk’s Office, first in Small Claims then in the Probate department. Mary graduated from E.C. Washington high school, Hammond Business College and she also attended Purdue University.
