Mary Carol Marsh, age 86, of Schererville, IN, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025. She is survived by her husband William Marsh Jr., children Richard Marsh, Theresa (Don) Milcarek, and William (Eileen) Marsh III; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother Charles (Linda) Kuhn; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Stephenie, son Charles, brothers Melvin and Norm Kuhn, and sister Ann (Bob) Ayersman.
Mary was an avid White Sox fan, even during the 2024 season. She was still telling stories about Bill Melton, Terry Forster, and Wilbur Wood from the 1970’s White Sox until the day she passed. When she wasn’t home raising three wild boys and a wonderful daughter, she spent her time in the food and beverage industry. She began her service industry career as a server at Sauzer’s Waffle Shop where she met her husband Bill and as a bartender, oops, Mary would always say “mixologist” and Beverage Manager at The Holiday Star where she met Liberace, Kenny Rogers, the Oak Ridge Boys and more. She always enjoyed making people smile with her snarky humor and quick wit while serving them. Mary would tell you exactly what she was thinking, and we all loved that about her. Away from work, she loved spending time with family, playing pinochle, crocheting and donating baby blankets, volunteering her time at Franciscan St. Margaret Hospital In Dyer, and going up to Fath’s Big Woods Resort in the Wisconsin Northwoods for fishing and relaxation.
Friends are invited to visit with Mary’s family on Monday, February 24, 2025 at the St. Michael Catholic Church (1 Wilhelm Street., Schererville IN.) from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 A.M. At rest, St. Michael Cemetery.
