Jovanka Lakic passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026. She was born in Medvija Dalmatia in September 1933.
Jovanka was preceded in death by her loving son Nikola, and husband Zivko. She was also preceded in death by her parents Petar and Pera Bogunovic, her brothers Dusan and Mago and twin sister Anka.
Jovanka is survived by her loving daughter Rada, and son Mike (Leah and Kiah) Lakich. She is also survived by her nephews Nenad and Milorad Bogunovic and families. Also survived by Slobodan (Gordana) Lakic and family. Sister in law Anka Lakic and family.
Jovanka was a proud member of the St. George Circle of Serbian Sisters. She was also a member and devoted worker at the Chetnik Hall in Schererville.
Funeral Service for Jovanka will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Schererville at 10:00 A.M. Friends are invited to visit with Jovanka’s family on Wednesday at Church from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. At rest, Calumet Park Cemetery.
