Janice I. Muehlman Kostelyk

Janice I Kostelyk age 80 of Demotte, Indiana, peacefully passed away Tuesday, November 24. She was born to Larry & Estella Clausen April 18, 1940 in Sheboygan Wisconsin. She was raised with her brothers Rich & Ed and sister Nancy in Hammond, Indiana. Janice married Carl F. Muehlman II on April 18, 1959 in Hammond, Indiana and moved south to Crown Point, Indiana where they raised their four children at the “Ranch”.
Janice received a nursing degree from Indiana University NW in 1985. She worked for the sisters of St Frances and St James Nursing home as an RN until her retirement in 2004. In 2008 She married John Kostelyk.
Janice dedicated her life to caring for her family. Not only did she open her home and life to all her family but also befriended anyone who needed a warm shoulder to lean on. Her kindness extended to everyone she met. She was always willing to help in any way she could. She was a great cook, who liked artwork, gardening, country living, antiques and loved her family so much. Janice was a wonderful woman who will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children; Carl Muehlman & (Linda Meyers), Craig & Nancy Muehlman, Chris & Candi Muehlman, and Cheryl Muehlman & (Dave Whittenhagen); her grandchildren Brian, Ben, Ashley, Nick and Brandon, Great-Grand Children; Farrah, and Jack. Janice is Proceeded in death by her first husband Carl 2004 and her second husband John P. Kostelyk 2017 and her granddaughter Jennifer 2015.
Friends are invited to visit the family Sunday November 29 at the Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home (7607 W. Lincoln Hwy {Rt 30 east of Cline} Schererville, IN.) from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held on Monday November 30 at 12 noon at Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home at rest, Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Standard COVID procedures are in place, face masks required to enter the funeral home.
