Darinka (Dara) Krasic

Darinka (Dara) Krasic passed away peacefully at Saint Anthony, Majestic Care in Crown Point  on Wednesday morning, December 4, 2024 surrounded by family. Born April 14, 1926 in Kricke, Dalmacija to parents Dusan and Anica (Besevic) Lunic. Baba Darinka lived through poverty, World War II, and the Balkan Wars of the 1990s until she immigrated to the United States in 2001. She was a loving granddaughter, daughter, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, cousin, aunt, and great-aunt. Her legacy will live forever through her daughter, grandchildren, future generations to come, and all her loving Lunic family members. Even though she had a life full of suffering, she always remained resilient and positive. Preceded in death by her parents Dusan and Anica Lunic, son Jovica Krasic, sister Milka Milakovic, sister Jelka Cajic, and brother V. Rev. Stavrofor Nedeljko (Ned) Lunic.  Survived by her daughter; Vjera Malesevic, grandchildren Vedrana and Branislav; sisters Danica Vukovic and Stana Jovicin, along with many nieces and nephews and their children, relatives, kumovi, and friends here in the USA, Serbia, and Croatia. Visitation will be held at the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Schererville on Tuesday December 10, 2024 from 9:00 am until time of service. Funeral services will be held after the visitation at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church at 905 E Joliet St. Schererville, IN.  At rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. After the burial, there will be a luncheon at Chetnik Memorial Hall. Memory eternal.  Vjecnaja Pamjat.
