Clifford H. Freiberger Jr., 80, of East Chicago passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, June 21, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Sharon R. Freiberger (Hartlerode), son Donn (Karen) Freiberger, daughter Katrina Freiberger, brother Les (Jan) Freiberger and sister Denise (Rick) Blackman. He was proud Grandpa of Brittany Freiberger Brockleman, Derek Freiberger, Aidan Burns, and Dylan Burns plus seven great grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford H. Freiberger Sr and Evelyn Bielski Freiberger.
Clifford was a graduate of EC Roosevelt and served in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He taught Industrial Electricity and Computer Repair at EC Washington, DeLaGarza Career Center and East Chicago Central. He later served as Building Engineer for the City of Hammond.
Clifford was a member of East Chicago Masonic Lodge #595 for 39 years where he served as Worshipful Master multiple times. He was always willing to mentor a new member. Friends remember his sense of humor and his willingness to help.
Clifford will be interred privately at Chapel Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
