Marlin John Redar (Skeeter) July 3, 1942 – June 29, 2023. Marlin John Redar, age 80, of Portage, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his home with his wife of 48 years, Alice Redar (nee Thiel) by his side. Marlin attended Dyer Central High School, and he worked at Midwest Steel for 30 years. In addition to great meals out with his wife and visiting different casinos, Marlin loved to fish at Eagle River, WI and Ludington, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Emma Redar, his sister Evelyn (William) Mathews, and his sister-in-law Corinne Redar. He is survived by his siblings, Gerald Redar, Lenore (Ralph) Robers, his sister-in-law Roxanne (Nick) Mavronicles, and many nieces and nephews. A note of appreciation for the compassionate care given to Marlin by the VNA Hospice team of Valparaiso during his final days. A Celebration of Life will be held for Marlin on Friday, July 14, 2023. Visitation from 11:30 – 1:30 P.M. at Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home, 7607 W. Lincoln Highway (Rt. 30) in Schererville, IN, 219-322-6616, immediately followed by his internment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens on Cline Ave. in Schererville.
