Edward Robert Wantuch, III

Edward Robert Wantuch, III

Edward Robert Wantuch, III, 55 of Valparaiso, Indiana (formerly of Schererville, IN), passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on October 22, 2022.  Eddie grew up in Dolton, Illinois was a proud graduate of Mount Carmel High
School in Chicago, IL. He went on to earn his BA degree from Southern Illinois University, which sparked his passion for graphic design.  Eddie and his wife, Monica were married for 25 adventurous and never boring, years. They had started a family, complete with Son, Èamon and Daughters, Molly and Kate. Nothing made Eddie prouder than his children. He was present at every event he possibly could attend for his children, and it was quite apparent his joy came from cheering them on. He did not shy away from lending a hand to anyone that needed help and was true to his word, never disappointing. He was larger than life and had many close and dear friends, who were more like
brothers. Eddie ran into someone he knew just about everywhere he visited. His presence at soccer games, beaches, and backyard fires with his family will be wholeheartedly missed.  In addition to Eddie’s wife Monica, and children, Èamon, Molly and Kate, Eddie is survived by his father, Edward R. Wantuch, Jr., Aunts Jeannie (Phil) Kadner, Patricia (Eddie) Zimmerman, many cousins including Michael (Kat) Knowles, Debbie (Sal) Gonzalez, Phillip (Lori) Markusic, Mic (Luanne) Markusic and Russell (Patty) Markusic. Fond Brother-in-law to Monica’s siblings, Jim (Tina) Butler, Maura (Kevin) Culver, Marty (Kimberly) Butler, and Mike (Julie) Butler. Uncle to many nieces and nephews and was affectionately known as “Uncle Big Ed”, recentproud Great Uncle to Killian Culver. He was preceded in passing by his mother, Kathleen Knowles Wantuch, and all Grandparents.  A viewing will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Schererville, Indiana on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 9-10:30 am, followed by a Mass at the same location beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery directly after the Mass.

Ed Wantuch lived a life driven to give the world to his children. In lieu of flowers, as Ed would have desired, donations towards the current and future education of Eamon, Molly, & Kate are greatly appreciated.
