Charles Rosich passed away peacefully at home on March 23rd, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born Dragutin Rosic on August 15, 1951, in Hamburg, Germany, to Margret and Rajko Rosic. After coming to the United States when he was two months old the family lived in Buffalo, New York before moving to Chicago, where he grew up on the East Side. As a teenager, he would help at the picnics at St. Simeon Serbian Church on 114th St, grilling thousands of cevapi and roasting lamb.
Chuck was proud of his working years. He was a self-taught auto mechanic and knew his cars inside and out. Chuck worked at Electro-Motive on E. 103rd St. in Chicago and was quickly promoted to supervisor. They recognized that Chuck was not a follower, but his organizational and leadership skills were better put to use as a supervisor. Chuck also worked for GM at Fisher Body plant in Lagrange IL as a supervisor. In 1987 Chuck began his job as Buick Area Service Manager in western PA and eastern OH. Then as an Area Manager for GM. The family moved to New Castle PA and lived there for 32 years.
He loved trains and would plan family vacations around train museums and Lionel Conventions and steam train excursions. He enjoyed collecting model trains as a hobby and going to model train clubs with his brother-in-law Mike. Chuck loved music and attended many concerts in his lifetime. Chuck was known to have a song for everything. His adventurous spirit had him and family travel to Europe where he enjoyed all the culture and history that was unique to the areas.
Chuck married his loving wife Mary Gulick in 1975. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and commitment. In 2022, they relocated to Florida to be closer to family.
Charles was a loving father to Jennifer (Matt), Nicholas (Nina), Jillian (Michael), and Natalie (Ryan), and lovingly remembered son Adam. He was a proud Djedo to Kevin (Samantha), Wendy (Benjamin), Nathan, Luca, Lee, Alexander, and Dominic, and a great-grandfather to Charlotte.
He will be remembered for the life he built from humble beginnings, his unwavering commitment to those he loved, and the legacy he leaves behind in his children and grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, at the New Gracanica Monastery Church, 35240 West Grant Avenue, Third Lake, IL 60046
