Norma Jean Dobrzynski (née: Martin) born August 23, 1931 having received the final sacraments of the Church passed peacefully on July 16, 2025. Norma was married to her late husband, John Robert (Bob) Dobrzynski on January 31, 1953. Please join with her children: Mark (Peggy) Dobrzynski, Marla (Tom) Fistrovich, Rev. Martin Dobrzynski, Maria (Dan) Rosendale, Robert (Ron) Dobrzynski-Fotopolous and John (Adrianne) Dobrzynski in praying for the repose of her soul. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She often would visit them and her beloved nieces and nephews in all the different places in which they lived in these United States.
Norma was born in the little town of Brockton Illinois. There she spent her young years before moving to the region when she was an early teenager. As a young child, she was intrigued in her geography book about the trains that “rode in the air”, the Chicago EL. That same curiosity drove her throughout her life. She was a graduate of Hammond Tech, class of 1949. Being the mother of six, as she would often remind people, was her most satisfying accomplishment. In addition to being the “domestic engineer“ for her family she held many other jobs outside the home. She enjoyed a good party and gathering with the extended family. She was known to have a picnic basket packed at all times for an impromptu Sunday outing. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family members all over the world.
She had the heart of a servant which came from her devout Faith. She was known to take care of those in the family and outside of the family who needed her assistance. Caring for her mother-in-law for 10 years, she brought her to the ripe old age of 100. She herself was striving for that goal but understood that God would maybe want to take her earlier.
The family offers heartfelt thanks to all those who helped care for Norma over these last 7 years, her caregivers, friends, doctors, deacons and priests and especially the Albertine Sisters.
