John Tsakopoulos, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Maria and loving sons Tom (Andrea) and George (Stavroula) Tsakopoulos. Cherished grandchildren Sandra, Jonathan and Teddy Tsakopoulos. He was preceded in death by his parents Athanasios and Christina, brothers Konstantinos, Alexander and sister Georgia. He was the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and leaves behind many relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
John came to the United States in 1966 from Nestani, Arcadia Greece. He spent most of his years in the restaurant business and was co-owner of Three Brothers Restaurant in Homewood, IL for over 25 years. John was a long-time member of St George Greek Orthodox Church in Schererville, IN.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, directly at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Schererville,
beginning at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
