Draga Markos, age 90, of Schererville, IN, passed away on July 12, 2026.
She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Nevenka, and son, Marko (Janie); grandchildren: Dane and Alena; sister Sava Vuletic (in Croatia), numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, kumovi and lifelong family friends in the United States, Canada, Serbia and Croatia.
Draga is preceded in death by her husband, Bogdan; parents Milan and Mileva Ivancevic; siblings Dusan, Nikola, Anka, Djuro, Dragan, and Jovo.
Draga was an active member of St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church in Merrillville, IN; the St. Elijah Circle of Serbian Sisters and the Chetnik Circle of Serbian Sisters. She was a tireless worker who supported many activities around the church and Serbian community, enjoyed her time outdoors with her flowers and garden, knitting blankets for her loved ones, and spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral Service for Draga will take place Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church in Merrillville, IN. at 9:30 A.M. Friends are invited to visit with Draga’s family on Thursday at Church from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. At Rest, St. Sava Monastery Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
