Doris Mae Moore

Doris Mae Moore (Teal), 88 years old, formerly of Oregon, Ohio and Crown Point, Indiana, passed away peacefully in the evening of January 20, 2026. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wilford Moore, parents, Joseph and Violet Teal, and her sisters, Violet Taylor and Bonnie Dickens. Doris is survived by her children, Tony (Robin) Moore, Brion (Rosemary Hartley) Moore, Gordon (Kathy) Moore, and Crystal (Tom) Kistler. Doris had 7 grandchildren, Tony Jr.(Lynn), Brad (Malynda), Kurt (Julie), Craig (Suzanne), Jennifer (Chris), Michelle (Justin) and William. In addition to her grandchildren, Doris also had 13 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Lois Farr and Linda Niedbalski.  Doris was born in Oregon, OH on May 1, 1937 to Joseph and Violet Teal. She attended Clay High School, class of 1955.  In August of 1955, she married the love of her life, Wilford Moore. They lived in Oregon, OH and raised their children until moving to Crown Point, Indiana in 1979. Although Doris spent most of her life as a homemaker, she did work a time at Pinkerton Tobacco Company, McCorkle’s Meat Market and Martinizing Dry Cleaning in Schererville, IN.  During Doris’ life while living in Ohio, she was a member of First St. Marks Lutheran Church, and the Oregon Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. In Indiana, she was a member of Price of Peace Lutheran Church, Izaak Walton League of Portage, IN and the Hoosier Cruisers and Amblin’ Ramblin’ Sams motorhome clubs. Doris loved to fish and spent her spare time crocheting and doing embroidery needle work. She will be missed by family and all of those who knew her. Friends are invited to visit with Doris’s family on Monday, January 26, 2026 at the Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home (7607 W. Lincoln Hwy. Crown Point, IN 46307) from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Funeral Service beginning at 12:30 P.M. Officiated by Doug Klukken. At rest, Chapel Lawn Cemetey.
