Robert Lee Roy Hamnik

Robert Lee Roy Hamnik, 86, of Crown Point, Indiana was called home to the Lord on December 14th 2025. Robert (Bob) was born on May 5, 1939, in East Chicago, Indiana to the late George Hamnik and Iva Jane Jones. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who deeply cared and loved his family.   Bob was a graduate of East Chicago Washington and retired from Inland Steel.  He was a long-time parishioner of St. Michael’s in Schererville and recently St. Mary’s in Crown Point.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joan; his children Robert G. (Kristen) Hamnik, Janice (David) Mucha, Joseph Hamnik, and George (Sue) Hamnik; his grandchildren, Arielle Mucha, Rachel Hamnik, Megan (Seth) Davis, Joseph Mucha, Michelle Hamnik, Logan Hamnik and Brittany Crass; his 8 great grandchildren; his sisters Gail Ladella and Georgann Gentry. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Hamnik,  Iva Jane Jones, his Stepmother Betty Coduti his grandchild Kaleigh Hamnik, and his nephew Michael Ventrella.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22nd, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home, 7607 W. Lincoln Hwy, Crown Point, IN.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Crown Point, IN.  Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN.
