Rita Pytel, age 94, of Cedar Lake, formerly of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Stanley Pytel, and her son-in-law, Jerry Ehresman.
Rita is survived by her children Stan (Helen Kroll), John (Kelly), Mariann, and Joseph (Christine); her cherished grandchildren Tim, Nicole, Daniel, Melanie, Taylor, Jared, Matthew, and Ben; and her adored great-grandchildren Logan, Jackson, Izzy, Elliott, Axel, and Bexley. Rita found joy in reading, crocheting, playing bingo, and spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, from 2:00–6:00 p.m. at Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home, 7607 West Lincoln Highway, Crown Point, Indiana 46307. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 13, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, 101 West Burrell Drive, Crown Point, Indiana 46307.
