Spasitel Suleski

Spasitel Suleski, age 87, of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 4th, 2025. Born on May 27th, 1938, Spasitel lived a life marked by hard work, deep devotion to his family, and pride in his heritage. In 1969, Spasitel made the courageous journey to America in search of a better life for his loved ones. After 25 years of dedication and perseverance, his cherished family finally joined him in America. Though he lived in the United States for most of his life, he remained deeply connected to his roots—returning to Macedonia regularly to visit his family. Spasitel proudly devoted 30 years of service to U.S. Steel, a workplace he spoke of often and with great admiration. His work ethic and loyalty earned him the respect of many, and he carried immense pride for the life he built through honest labor. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ruzica; his daughter, Liljana; his parents, Slave and Ljicha; his siblings, Dimitri, Jone, and Blaguna; and his daughter-in-law Slavica. Spasitel is survived by his loving children: son Nestor Suleski, and daughter Cveta (Damjan)Dimoski. He was a proud grandfather to Jose (Kristina) Dimoski, Elena (Robert) Naumoski, Mariana (Sase) Sotiroski, Mladen (Angela) Suleski, and Aleksandra Suleski. His legacy continues through his cherished great-grandchildren: Angela, Kristofer, Ema, Anthony, Christian, Daniel, Kristian, Kalina, and Evgenija. Spasitel found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially sitting outside on warm days and working on crossword puzzles, a pastime he enjoyed until his final day. Above all, he was a family man whose greatest happiness came from being surrounded by generations of those he loved. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at St. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, located at 9660 Broadway, Crown Point, Indiana. Visitation begins at 9:00 A.M., with the Funeral Service starting at 10:00 A.M., officiated by Rev. Georgij Gligorov and Rev. Aleksandar Mitrov. Spasitel will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance and to celebrate the life of a remarkable man who will be deeply missed.
