Ratko R. Ivankovic, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on August 9, 2026. Ratko was born on May 5, 1942 in the village of Peulje in Bosna. He immigrated to America in September of 1958 with his mother Marta and sister Milka, where they joined his father Stojan in Gary, Indiana.
Ratko worked at Inland Steel for over 30 years. He was a friend to all and a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, and Kum.
Ratko is preceded in death by his father Stojan, mother Marta, brother-in-law Lazar Ivetic, and nephew Ranko Ivetic. Ratko leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years Andja, his two sons Nikola and Milan, three grandchildren Ratko, Ava, and Mila and sisters Dara Ivetic and family and Milka Radjenovic and family.
Ratko was profusely loved and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at New Gracanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. Friends are invited to visit with Ratko’s family on Thursday at Church from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. At rest, Gracanica Monastery Cemetery.
